After we moved my daughter’s gorgeous, handmade dresser to her room, I noticed that it smelled. The odor of the finishing products we used (both oil-based paint and wood stain) was pretty strong. It wasn’t strong enough to keep us from using the dresser, but strong enough that I smelled it whenever I walked into the room. I decided that I needed to figure out how to remove paint odors so that Emma’s room wouldn’t be so overpowering.
Then, my mind went to something new and bright and shiny, and I promptly forgot what I needed to figure out. Story of my life!
A few weeks later, my friend Myra posted on Facebook that she painted her boys’ bedroom with low VOC paint and it still smelled bad. To get rid of the paint smell, she opened the bedroom window and added a Young Living essential oil blend, called Purification, to the diffuser in their room with the door closed. At the end of the day, the paint smell was completely gone – not masked by another smell, but G.O.N.E.
Wait, what? There’s a magic oil that makes paint odors go away?
