This weekend:
-I glued 250 wings on 250 tiny paper birds. In fact, I still haven’t finished gluing. I can’t wait to show you what I’m making, though.
-My husband and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary by reflecting on how much our lives have changed in those six years. All changes for the good, and we couldn’t be happier to be together, with a 4-year old son, who is more that any parent could ever ask for, and a daughter on the way.
-We primed and began painting the baby’s nursery. My husband won’t let me paint because I’m pregnant, so I just laid in the hallway and kept him company while the toiled away. That’s my kind of painting!
-We spent time building Lego structures, painting on Color Wonder paper, and just snuggling and laughing with our sweet Zack. We didn’t put a single toy away the entire weekend. Boy, do we have our work cut out for us today!
-My talented make-up artist neighbor, Ellie, showed me a very cool way to apply eyeliner. Under the eyelashes, instead of on top! Who knew? It makes your eyelashes look so full and natural. Perhaps I should ask her to do a video tutorial for us?
-We turned off the TV, disconnected from the Internet (as much as I know how to), and just lived our lives. It was so nice, and I think we’ll have to try to do that as often as we can.
What did you do this weekend?
P.S. Thank you to everyone who participated in the $5 Challenge! The turnout was amazing and the projects are incredible. The judges and I are still getting through them, and I hope to be able to announce the 5 finalists by the end of the week. Like all of us, the judges have busy lives, busy families, and busy jobs, so we may have to wait until the beginning on next week. Good things are worth the wait, right?
Okay, I am dying to see what you do with all those little birds! How precious. I’m sure it will be fabulous though.
Huh, I thought that’s how everyone applies their eyeliner! Supposedly, one goes above if one is using white to freshen up tired eyes, and below to “thicken” lashes. I basically go below and try to get in among the lashes so the liner is as close to being in the lash line as possible. Looks natural that way!
I had never learned it this way! Of course, I’m not really a make-up gal and don’t read beauty magazines or anything, so maybe I’m just in the dark about such things. I can’t wait to try it for myself this morning!
Lindsay sounds like you had a lovely weekend. I am so curious about the bird project! Looking forward to the results of the $5 challenge too.
Sarah
I am super curious about those adorable birds. Congrats on 6 years. Super excited to see what others did for the $5 challenge.
Those birds are CUTE! Can’t wait to see what you do with em! We have a little boy turning 5 next week so we did some bday party prep. And I made TWO yes TWO hams. One for us and one of hubby’s work! 🙂
Yes video please! The big question is, powder? Liquid? Gel? Pencil?
How sweet! Sounds like a blissful weekend. My husband & I have been talking more & more about “disconnecting” from life a few times a week, w/ no tv or internet. We just read, listen to music, complete projects, go for walks & enjoy each other. 🙂 This weekend we finally made some headway on our spare/work room & I’m so excited to get it more organized to I can make projects in it. 🙂
You have to share your new found eyeliner knowledge with us. I’m trying to figure out this method.
Happy Anniversary.
♥ Joy
Yes, for sure get her to do a tutorial on the eye liner! I need all the help I can get! Can’t wait to see the baby girls room…it is going to be sweet! I am thinking a wall collage for the birds above the crib :)Thanks for the $5 challenge, I did not participate but have been looking at all the posts and found some great blogs in the process! People are so cre8tive!
Oh I cannot wait to see what you’re doing with those cute birds. Just looking at that picture makes me want to start cutting out birds too!
Sounds like a fabulous weekend! I cannot wait to see what you do with those birds!
It is always a good thing to remember the real priorities and finding the joy you receive just being together 🙂 Can’t wait to see what all those birdies are for!! Judi
Absolutely need to see a video tutorial!! I’m terrible at eyeliner!
So what did you do with the birds? Want to see the pics.
Tee hee! 🙂 I’ll be posting the finished project soon. I finished it this afternoon and I am doing a happy dance about it.
Are the birds made with the Stampin’ Up! bird punch? Can’t wait to see what you are making….when are you posting? (no pressure, huh?)
They sure are! Good eye! 🙂
I’ll be posting it maybe in a week or two? I mean, I gotta keep y’all waiting sometimes….LOL
I am loving all these little birds!! Can’t wait to see what you are up to!
Oh those birds are super cute. Can’t wait to see more!
-Jordana
Oh yes, video tutorial from neighbor please!!!! Have you ever seen the makeup geek blog? She has lots of fun videos.
I’ll have to check that out! When I say I’m not a make-up girl, I totally mean it. I haven’t bought new make up since my son was about 6 months old…so almost 4 years. Yikes!
Lindsay I know whatever you do it will be absolutely darling! Your baby is going to feel so loved <3
I am in serious need of any and all make-up video tutorials, please share!
Before the picture loaded I was wondering why you had only 250 wings for 250 birds……
My husband hurt his hip and knee, so I helped him deliver his newspapers, then I made a spinach lasagna for a future meal or two, as well as a crock pot of pinto beans, as instructed by http://budgetsarethenewblack.com/. I was feeling very domestic 🙂
Sounds like a busy weekend
Awwww I love Lindsay and her projects. Caden’s room has turned into the month long project. I told JJ that she needs to come and photograph it when it’s done. I can wait to see baby girl’s finished room!
Hey Lindsay…where did you get the pattern for your birds?
Hi Angela- The birds were cut using a the Two-Step Bird Punch from Stampin’ Up. 🙂
