I woke up this morning with big plans. I wasn’t quite sure what direction our day was going to take us, but we were going to work towards accomplishing one of the many design goals that are swimming in my head.
When I stopped all of my plotting for a few minutes to snuggle my little DS, I realized he was feeling a bit warm. Fever? 100.0. Not too high, but nothing I’m willing to ignore. I was trying to figure out if I should take him to see his pediatrician (who is probably one of my top 5 favorite people in the world) when he told me that his ears hurt. The decision was made for me and we headed over to the doctor’s office.
Turns out that there is nothing wrong with him other than he may be heading into a cold. We ran to the drug store for some Children’s Sudafed (per doctors orders) and went home to snuggle on the couch. It was then that I remembered two of my favorite blog posts from this week:
Kimba at A Soft Place to Land had a great post on taking the time to forget everything else you need to do in life and just enjoy rocking your child. One day, it will be the last time you will ever rock him, but you won’t know it at the time. I actually read this on Wednesday evening when DS was already asleep, and I went and got him out of bed to rock him. We’ve been rocking at least twice a day since then. He absolutely loves to be rocked, and I absolutely love rocking him. Thanks for the reminder, Kimba!
The other post I loved this week was by Melissa over at The Inspired Room. She pointed out the beauty of taking your time in decorating your home. It doesn’t all have to be done immediately, and it’s actually fun to really think about what you want to do before you actually do it. This point was really good one for me to read, as my obsessiveness and compulsiveness don’t make it easy for me to slow down. Our impromptu doctor’s visit forced me to take a break today, and it was actually kind of nice to not think about my home today. Thanks, Melissa!
Sometimes it’s good to throw your plans out the window, relax, and snuggle with the ones you love.
An entire box of Nilla Wafers helps, too. Hey, at least they were reduced fat.
Aww sweet post.
I’m glad that he didn’t have an ear infection.
We are all about prevention in our house. As soon as the snot rolls in, the drugs start.
What a beautiful blog! I love to see people focused on what is really important 🙂
I totally agree with Kimba on the rocking thing. I have three kids, 20 down to 8. I made sure to rock them and hold them as much as possible and I am SO glad I did. The time flew by but at least I can remember that I consciously took the time to savor those moments.
And for the going slow with decorating, it is hard especially when I look around blog land and see how much everyone seems to accomplish! But, I want to take my time and not get sucked in by blog pressure! 🙂
have a great day,
Melissa
Excellent website. A lot of useful info here. I?m sending it to a few friends ans also sharing in delicious. And certainly, thanks for your effort!
The following time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I know it was my option to read, but I actually thought youd have something attention-grabbing to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you possibly can fix if you happen to werent too busy in search of attention.
I’m in awe of the author’s ability to make intricate concepts approachable to readers of all backgrounds. This article is a testament to his expertise and commitment to providing useful insights. Thank you, author, for creating such an compelling and insightful piece. It has been an unforgettable experience to read!

Hi, Neat post. There is a problem with your website in internet explorer, would test this? IE still is the market leader and a good portion of people will miss your fantastic writing because of this problem.
I’m not that much of a internet reader to be honest but your sites really nice, keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back later on. All the best
Hello, you used to write excellent, but the last few posts have been kinda boring? I miss your tremendous writings. Past several posts are just a bit out of track! come on!
I have read several good stuff here. Definitely worth bookmarking for revisiting. I wonder how much effort you put to make such a fantastic informative site.
Just about all of what you state is astonishingly precise and it makes me ponder why I had not looked at this in this light previously. This particular article truly did switch the light on for me personally as far as this issue goes. However there is actually one particular issue I am not necessarily too comfy with and whilst I try to reconcile that with the central idea of your issue, permit me observe just what all the rest of the visitors have to point out.Very well done.
I have seen many useful points on your internet site about desktops. However, I have the judgment that laptop computers are still less than powerful sufficiently to be a wise decision if you usually do jobs that require a lot of power, like video editing and enhancing. But for world wide web surfing, word processing, and many other common computer work they are all right, provided you don’t mind small screen size. Many thanks for sharing your ideas.
I’ve been absent for a while, but now I remember why I used to love this web site. Thank you, I will try and check back more often. How frequently you update your web site?
