We had our home built in 2008 and absolutely love it. We picked the floor plan, the lot, the exterior stone, and most of the interior finishes. After living in a home that needed more early 1990s updates than we really wanted to make, we were thrilled to have a home where we only had to change the things that we wanted to change – not the things we HAD to change because they were falling apart!
Since then, we’ve been slowly tackling our builder’s beige walls and transforming our home into our dream home. My family members share a love of pattern and color (on his last day of school, my 7 year old filled out an “All About Me” worksheet declaring that his favorite thing about his bedroom was that it was colorful), so we’re taking a ‘no holds barred’ approach to transforming our home.
