One Change Leads to Another

by Lindsay Ballard on May 2, 2011 14 Comments

Last week, I ran into SteinMart to see if they had some cute pajamas for a “Jammies and Jewels” Royal Wedding watch party I was attending early, early on Friday morning.

I didn’t find any.  But, I did find some delicious new chandelier shades on clearance for just $2.94 a piece.

I think they are so fun!  I was shocked at how perfectly the blue in the shades matched the blue on my walls (Smoked Turquoise by Glidden).

Now, I feel like I need to do something more with my chandelier, which is what the builder installed and definitely not my first choice in light fixtures.  I’m seeing some spray paint in my future- perhaps in turquoise or bright green.  And if I don’t like it?  No biggie.  I never really liked it to begin with.

As with anything I do, one change often leads to another.

Speaking of changes, if you haven’t already voted for my room – #73! – in the Vintage Revival’s Room Makeover Contest, please, please, please do.  I would be forever grateful.  So would my husband, as I had him painting our master bedroom all weekend long (we aren’t finished, but SQUEE! it’s awesome) and the thought of painting the living room makes him really, really grumpy.  Click here to vote – all it takes is one click, so you could do it in like 15 seconds – or 5 if you have an internet connection much faster than mine.

P.S. I have no idea why my photos are kind of yellow on top. I’m sure I’ve hit the “make the top of your photos yellow” button on my camera and didn’t know it.  That’s really annoying.

The Glue Gun Army is Called Up for Active Duty

by Lindsay Ballard on May 1, 2011 2,022 Comments

My dear Glue Gun Army, you are called up for active duty again!  It’s time to vote for me and my monster wall in the Vintage Revivals Room Re-Do Contest:

How to vote:

1.  Click HERE and scroll down to entry #73 (Mandi and the Technicolor Dreamroom).

2.  Click the little star underneath it.

3.  You’re done!

See how easy is that?  You can vote for up to 5 entries (but only once for me).  You can only vote once per IP address, so if you have a computer at your office, neighbors house, parents house, dog house, hen house, or outhouse, you should use that too.  I’m pretty sure that you can use your smartphone or iPad-thingy, too.  Please post this on your Facebook page or forward to your friends.   Anybody and everybody can vote!

Thanks in advance!

P.S. – If you saw this post earlier and it had a different subject (you’ll know what I mean if you saw it), know that it’s still all good.  I just needed to keep some things under wraps until voting is over.  If you didn’t see it, don’t worry about it – I’ll tell you soon!  🙂
