All Grown Up: A Little Girl’s Bedroom

by Lindsay Ballard on March 10, 2014 2,566 Comments

Well, I kept my promise.  I was able to completely transform my daughter’s serene nursery into the bold and colorful bedroom that reflects her personality, all without ever touching a paint brush to the walls.  If you’ve been reading for a while, you’ll know that that sort of promise makes me all twitchy, like a drug addict looking for her next hit.  But, I did it.

Emma’s nursery was a sweet little room for a sweet little baby.  I put a lot of time into making sure it stayed soft and neutral.  I had it in my brain that this would help her sleep well.  I have no idea if my theory is based in any real science, but I do know that I could put her in her bed awake and she’d put herself to sleep.  I credit my genius wall color choices.

My sweet little baby has turned into a creative, hilarious, brilliant, and beautiful 3 1/2 year old little girl. Her room needed some color, so I set out to make it happen – without painting the walls.

Choose Your Own Adventure

Choose Your Own Adventure via MakelyHome.com

I have always considered myself a big ideas person.  Even in my past professional life, I could come up with amazing ideas.  But, as is so typical of me, the minutia behind those big ideas got boring, and I’d move on to the next shiny object.  It’s like I’m a parakeet of big ideas.

Makely has really helped me to turn those big ideas into small, bite sized nuggets.  Breaking down a project into steps for my readers makes me think a lot about the how and the why I blog.  I decorate for me, but I blog for you.

There’s a lot spinning around in this (sometimes crazy) brain of mine – decorating ideas, social media ideas, technology ideas that I don’t know are even possible.  I know I’m going to continue doing right by me, but I need to make sure that I am still doing right by you.

I’ve put together a quick survey that I would be forever grateful to you if you would take a few minutes to complete.  It’s not a survey about me, but it’s a survey about you.  I want to get into your brain and find out your whos, your whats, and your whys.  You’re going to help me choose your own adventure.

After you complete the survey, please enter to win a $50 gift card to any store of your choice!  The winner will tell me where they want to shop, and I’ll make it happen.  You’ll be choosing your own adventure, again.

Thank you so much for your support throughout the years.  I wish I could invite each and every one of you to my house for a big ‘ole party in celebration of your awesome.
