I don’t show my living room very often on the blog.
Why? Well, until just a few weeks ago, it was builder’s beige. And anything that’s builder’s beige is dead to me. So, my living room has been neglected. Sure, it is clean and comfortable – but it was beige.
It WAS beige. We’re going to address what I mean by that in the next few days.
Anyway, now that I feel like I can breathe in this room again, I’m ready to start making some changes. The rug that I had in there didn’t look great in the de-beiged room, so I needed to replace it. And just like a guardian angel, Mohawk Home swooped in and asked me if they could send me a new rug.
Rugs are always hard for me since my color palette is so vibrant. There aren’t very many choices out there in my palette that are still stylish. However, I found a few Mohawk Home area rugs that would work in my living room, so I actually had to spend time narrowing my choices down to just one. What a change that was for me!
I chose the Mohawk Select Strata rug in Multi Mixed Chevrons. You can find it here.
The rug arrived just a few days after I ordered it. The colors were a little more vivid than they looked online, but I was expecting that due to the online reviews. It is nylon which means it’s not as soft as the wool rug that was in the room before, but it still feels nice underfoot. And Mohawk rugs are still made in America, which I completely love. Gah #ilovemymohawkrug!
My rug is an 8′ x 10′ one which is pretty large – and meant a lot of pattern. I love geometric patterns so much it hurts , but I wanted to break this rug up a little bit. So, I layered a painted jute rug underneath my coffee table, and it breaks up all of the bold pattern. It looks so great like this!
How would you like for Mohawk Home to send you a rug, too? Oh, that would be awesome, right?
