After months of searching, I finally decided on a sofa for the in-progress playroom. My husband kept questioning my need for a sofa in there, but I was adamant that we adults needed a place to sit. I came up with a great solution, but you’ll have to wait to see it. I have some “alterations” to make to our new sofa – you know that I can’t just leave something alone.
I want to add a few throw pillows to the new sofa, but I’m going to have to make sure they are the right choices. Because I know that they will always end up on the floor, used as trampolines, or supports for a blanket fort, I need them to be durable. Something tells me that my kids are going to really put the “throw” in throw pillow.
Though my great pillow search of 2012, I’ve coming across a ton of fun pillows that I wanted to share with you. There are really some gorgeous patterns and creative ideas out there today. Take a look for yourself.

I love to change my pillows every season. Its such an easy & inexpensive way to make the room feel brand new. I usually go for bold patterns with a little piping to pull it all together. Though I haven’t yet decided what I am going to do this fall… I guess I better get busy!

You’ve got some beauties in your Etsy shop, Suzi!

I love pillows! As for which one I’d go with ….it would depend on the room, really! For a playroom, something fun, whimsical, and definitely durable! One I wouldn’t feel so bad about if it got markers or snot on it LOL So it definitely needs to be able to be thrown in the washing machine if need be! I wouldn’t spend a fortune on such pillows, either. Now in my family room it’s all about comfort and yes it can purty too! I love details and patterns, that’s for sure! Can’t wait to see what you come up with!!
Lindsay says
Yes, snot. Forgot about the snot! LOL

Lovely…I read this while eating something with cheese sauce on it. GAG. LOL. Pillows must survive animals and teeangers in my house.
Lindsay says
Ha! Maybe we saved you some calories from the cheese sauce? 🙂 Are teenagers worse than toddlers? I’m scared.
murfnik says
Hee…I managed to eat it anyway. And yes, having had both toddlers and teenagers…the teenagers are far harder on furniture and accessories.
Lindsay says
Oh, man! I didn’t need to know that!

Thanks so much Lindsay!

My girlfriend has in the living room about 20 pillows. I feel that if I give your website, she’ll buy more than 10 pillows.
Lindsay says
Ha! Well, I can’t help there. I’d have that many, too, if my kids didn’t constantly throw them on the floor. 🙂

Wow those pillos are realyl beautiful. I love pillows and cushions, they really brighton up a room and make seating areas more comfy. At one point I had so many cushions on my bed that there wasn’t enough space for me to sleep on there!
Lindsay says
Ha! My husband complains about that himself. 🙂

All these great posts about chevrons walls on your blog are so helpful. I just went through the “how to” page and your original bedroom post too. I am getting ready to paint a chevron on the wall that goes up my stairs. It will be seen from both the downstairs and when you are upstairs. I’m a little nervous about how it will look but that wall has stumped me since we move in 7 years ago. It needs some fun. Luckily I am not afraid of heights since I will be on a two story ladder (with my hubby’s help). If this does not work I will be eating crow! Wish me luck.

I am so sorry Lindsay, I have no idea how I ended up posting about your chevron wall on your pillow page. I must have hit the home page, oh well… I love the pillows too 🙂
Lindsay says
Oooh, that wall will be SO fun. I’d love to see a photo when you are done!
