Today is our second Jumpstart June check-in day. If you recall, this is a series I’m doing where I picked a project to try to finish by the end of the month. Some of you picked projects, too. Then, we check in each week to keep each other on track. It’s hard to believe that we are over halfway finished with June!
This check-in method has completely kept me on task. There have been a few times when I wanted to start something new, but I knew that if I did, I wouldn’t have much progress to report to you guys. So, thanks for keeping me going, even though you might not know that you are.
I didn’t feel like I made a ton of progress on my Mary Blair inspired wall this week, but when I looked at the images from previous weeks, I realized that I really had.

Two weeks seems like a long time to have only gotten this far. But, since I’m painting each square one by one with a tiny artist’s paint brush, I’m actually thrilled with how far its come.
I can tell now that I had much grander plans for the month, and although this particular wall will be finished in June, the rest of the walls will not be. That’s going to be closer to the end of the summer – and I’m okay with that. Working on this has been slightly therapeutic, and there’s really no need to rush it.

There is no way I’m getting my project done. Sigh. This month has just been too crazy. I’ve been swamped at work, busy every weekend, and busy most nights. I’ll be glad for July!
The wall came out fantastically! I’d imagine this to be one of those things where if i tried it myself it wouldn’t come out looking anything like this 😛

I love your wall and I totally get the therapeutic aspect. A long time ago I stenciled a picket fence with pansies along my baseboards. It was really pretty and really time consuming but I couldn’t wait to get home from work, finish dinner and do a few feet of it before bedtime.
I love the pop of red. There is only one thing I don’t like and I’m curious if you debated about it. On the third row from the bottom there are two green and gray triangle blocks. There is a tiny white line separating the two blocks. I think it would look better if it were green and the two blocks became one long block. There is no other tiny white line on the whole wall and this one just jumps out to me. I’m sorry, I probably shouldn’t have said anything but if I had worked that hard on something I would not want a tiny white line to be what people noticed.
I’m disabled now and can’t do much but I enjoy redecorating through watching what the bloggers do. I love your playful use of color. I love that you made a striking piece of wall art out of a rug. I have a chair rail in one room that just may get this treatment under it.
Went in there and studied that wall, it will be my winter time project. I’m pinning this so I won’t forget.
Thanks, Margaret! You know, that line bugged me for a second, too. But without the line, the block was too long and looked unbalanced. It’s just one of those lesser of two evil things now. LOL!
