Drum Roll, Please!

by Lindsay Ballard on February 16, 2012 11 Comments

I have two pieces of very exciting news today!

First of all, I’m beyond delighted to be sharing one of my favorite projects with my blog crushes, Monica and Jess of Real Housewives of Bucks County.  They are on a joint birthday getaway to Mexico, so they asked me to share a little somethin’-somethin’ with their readers.

Do you know Monica and Jess?  I have no idea how I found them, but it wasn’t hard for me to quickly become obsessed.  Their blogs and their projects are absolutely amazing.  Hop on over there, check out my drum light project and then subscribe to their blog and fall in love.

Once you see that drum light again, you may decide that it’s so awesome that you just need to have the tutorial in print.  Well, aren’t you in luck?

Late last week, I found out that my tutorial has been published in Tom Tom Magazine, a magazine about female drummers.  How cool is that?  I was contacted by the editor about running my tutorial several months ago, but I just figured that my feature didn’t make the cut since I never heard anything more.  I was so surprised when she let me know that I could be found in the most recent issue (Issue #8)!

Although I will never be as cool as the female drummers featured in this magazine, I certainly do feel like a rock star right about now.  I’m famous, y’all!  🙂

Oh my WOW! How did I not know about this light? I looove it.
I’ll put it on my honey-do list for my husband who is currently building me an electronic drumset complete with stave drums out of hickory wood. Love it.
I have been a percussionist for 21 years now and am just learning how to really jam on the drum sets. It’s so fun.
I found a snare drum clock that I also pine after.
But this is way better, thanks!!

Lindsay! I absolutely loved your DIY drum, so much that I had my husband put two up in the music shop we own. We have two display windows and they help light it up at night as well as give it a funky feature in the day time. WE LOVE IT! Will try and send pics soon.
