I had a minor freak out a few nights ago when I realized that Zack would be starting Kindergarten in a month and a half. Where has the time gone?
Determined to make the best of the last bit of time we have left before school starts, I’ve been making an effort to do fun things with him. We swim. We have dance parties. I tickle his feet in the car when we are stopped at a stop light. Sometimes, I think that *I* want to remember this summer more than he does. I need to make this one count.
Are you feeling that way, too?
Today, join me over at Design Dazzle as I show a fun craft project Zack and I did together – a little Radiator Springs Garden. It’s a pretty way to incorporate my interests (succulents) and his interests (the movie Cars 2). It was so easy to put together, but I really hope its one of those little things he always remembers doing with his Mom.
Don’t want a Radiator Springs Garden? I’m not offended – Lightening McQueen isn’t for everyone! Check out the other great ideas in Design Dazzle’s Summer Camp. There are still all sorts of ways to have a fun, crafty summer with your kids.
What fun things have you done or are you going to do with your kids this summer?
Amen! 🙂 Natalie starts kindergarten in early September. We’ve been at the pool a lot, and are going to the beach at the end of the month. I also take the girls to the $2 at the nice movie theater in town that shows Disney classics. 🙂
I loved this post! My daughter too starts kinder in less than two months and I’m just not prepared at all for it! This is the last summer before public school takes over my daughter…….I’m so sad but happy for her at the same time.
Lindsay,
My son is starting kindergarten in September as well and I have been feeling the same way. For real, where has the time gone? It’s crazy! We’ve been out and about every day either swimming, at the park, meeting friends, going to the library…just trying to fill our days with fun things. I love your idea with the Radiator Springs Garden…my son would love that ~ I’ll have to give it a try! All the best to you and continue to enjoy your summer before school begins 😉
