Just like 400 other DIY bloggers around the country, I’m headed to the Haven Conference tomorrow. I wasn’t able to go last year due to a timing issue, so you better believe that I wasn’t going to miss it this year.
If you aren’t going, I’m sure you are tired of reading the eleventy billion pots that the other bloggers have written. I was like that last year. “Enough already! I’m jealous enough!” Sad face.
If you are going to Haven, I have three little things to pass along to you:
Thing One
I DESPERATELY want to meet you. Honestly and for serious. Please come and find me! I am super nice and destined to say something stupid that will make you laugh. You might be laughing AT me and not WITH me, but at least you’ll be laughing.
When trying to find me, you might think that I look like this:
But really, I look like this these days:
That’s like a different person, huh? I change my hair color and makeup as often as I change my wall color. I think I’m even blonder than that now.
Anyway, COME AND SAY HELLO TO ME! I want to meet you, and I have a little something to give you.
Thing Two
If you are nervous to walk into the opening cocktail party, just walk right in and look for me. I’ll be the gal in THE turquoise dress.
What do you mean by ‘THE dress’, Lindsay? Well, come and find me. I promise that it will be hard to miss me and you’ll have an immediate ice breaker. That’s all I have to say about that.
Thing Three
I’d love for you to come to the session I’m presenting with my friends Mandi from Vintage Revivals and Ashley from The Handmade Home. They are two of the most awesome and creative bloggers out there (and two of my idols), and I somehow got paired up to teach with them. Pinch me!
We’ll be talking about how to break out of the mold in your decorating. It’s one of my favorite topics, and it’s going to be a fun, entertaining and highly energetic class. If you don’t come on Friday, you’re going to hear all about it and will be fighting for a seat on Saturday. Just sayin’.
(Ashley made that fun graphic. She makes me want to be a better blogger AND a graphic designer.)
I am so excited to see my old blog friends and meet tons of new ones. Being a blogger has a very isolating quality, but these little girls’ weekends/conferences really rejuvenate me and get my juices flowing again.
Will I be seeing you at Haven? Let me know!
I’ll be there! I’m the dork bringing my mom with me (who is not even a blogger, but bought a ticket anyway to support me, isn’t she sweet?) so I didn’t have to fly alone. I can’t wait to meet you in person!
I am seriously so excited to meet you, Stephanie! And I really love that your mom is going to be there. I have a hug for you both!
Lindsay, you were one of the very first people I “met” online back in 2009, so I’ll be glad to meet you in real life! I’ll be at Haven with rings on my fingers and bells on my toes! (Well, not really bells, but you get the idea.) Looking forward to seeing you there!
Richella, you have no idea how excited I am to finally get to see you! When I saw your name on the list, I got seriously excited. 😀
Lindsay – Can NOT wait to meet you. I will be looking for the dress!
I am SO excited, Jessica!!
