Show Your State Pride: Yellow Rose of Texas Inspired Side Table

by Lindsay Ballard on September 19, 2013 1,708 Comments

Howdy, y’all!  This post is part of an amazing blog tour called Show Your State Pride.  It was put together by my good friend Beckie at Infarrantly Creative, and the blog tour starts there with her cute project featuring Indiana.  If you are following along with the tour, you are probably joining me from Laura at Finding Home.  Welcome!

If you know a Texan (or have even heard of a Texan), it’s probably safe to say that you know we are a special breed of people.  We do everything bigger and have a state pride that’s unmatched elsewhere. Although we do have more than our fair share of crazy stuff and people around here, I have loved living in this bigger-than-life state for the last 30 years.

Adorable, right?  And perfect for everyone – even those of you who aren’t forced to learn Texas folk songs in 7th grade Texas History class (Yes, an entire class.  That happens.).

Months!   We live in a five year old home, so I didn’t want to go to the extremes of retiling, ripping out the vanity and knocking out the bathtub.  Everything was in perfect condition.  But sadly, the entire room was just builder’s beige, and we know that wasn’t going to be okay with me.

I’m so excited to announce that the bathroom is FINISHED!  And I completely transformed this room with nothing other than paint, fabric and really cool styling.

The transformation started easy enough.  I painted the walls in Glidden’s Capitol Blue and the ceilings in Lindsay White.  I also framed out the mirror with a Mirror Mate frame to make it look a little less builder’s grade, and I replaced the knobs on the vanity to make them a little more fun.

Easy, right?  But folks, this is the point where I lost my ever-loving mind.
