{31 Days to an Eclectic Home} Day 20 – Find a Chair

by Lindsay Ballard on October 20, 2011 10 Comments

Today is Day 20 of a 31 day series on creating and cultivating an eclectic home.  For some crazy reason, I have accepted The Nester’s challenge to write on the same theme every day for the month of October.  This may end up killing me.  Or you.  But, I appreciate you reading and welcome your comments.

Regardless of your eclectic style mix, I am confident that every home could use a brightly painted chair with a funky fabric.  You will need to choose a chair style that fits into your style, but a little paint and a staple gun will transform a dated beauty into a work of art.

Via Etsy

I’ve just finished a great chair in my favorite shocking yellow and a fun geometric fabric.  Next week, we’ll talk about how I made the transformation, step-by-step.

Until then, you have a mission.  Grab an extra chair from your garage.  Stop by an estate sale this weekend.  Hit up the thrift stores on Saturday.  Find a chair that fits into your eclectic style mix and get ready to add some color to your life.  To make it easier, look for one that only has an upholstered seat (and maybe back).  Chairs with removeable upholstered cushions will add an extra degree of difficulty.

What color will you paint your chair?  Think boldly!
