Keeping It Real

by Lindsay Ballard on February 7, 2014 8 Comments

I spent an entire day in bed due to a sinus infection – which NEVER happens.

Family came in town for a long weekend visit.

My son turned 8. EIGHT!

We got together with friends for a fun Super Bowl party.

We coached our team of Destination Imagination kids for an hour.

And then for four more when I realized at the last minute that school had early release.

That was followed by a two hour school delay due to (non-existent) weather conditions.

And then an entire day of school cancelled the night before because the chance of winter weather was 20%.

Things have gotten out of hand.

Maybe I’ll get this all cleaned up today.

Maybe I won’t.

I’m just keeping it real.

I love it! It’s always good to see that we all live the same way and go through the same struggles with keeping life in order… don’t clean it up. Enjoy a day of relaxation 🙂

Don’t cha just love round rock isd!!!! I’m working from home today because classes were cancelled and thought my hubs was going to work. Instead he’s upstairs sleeping and I’m having to keep a 9 year old entertained while trying to work. I think I would rather come to your house instead!!!! Hope you are feeling better. Kim

I adore slice of life pictures like these. It’s very sweet to see the toys out right where they were abandoned. It’s lovely. It’s a home!

Um, I can DEFinitely still see your floor which means you have a long way to go before your crazy talk about cleaning.

This post makes you my favorite blogger. I’ve seen others attempt this, and the reveal of their mess appears contrived, as if they had merely dumped the tidy contents of one small closet onto a sofa while wearing heels and pearls.

But this! This is legitimate chaos. It’s random and hurried and undisciplined. Perfect.
