I have been in love with Sputnik chandeliers for years now. It’s no secret that I love the midcentury modern style, and these chandeliers are the epitome of that style in my eyes.
But they can be insanely expensive – like $800+. Who has that kind of money for a chandelier? Not me.
Well, I finally bought one a few months ago for my living room that was much more reasonably priced. I searched high and low to find the right one for my room – it needed to be pretty big to fit the space – but it also couldn’t blow my budget. In the process, I came across several that I thought I should pass along in case you were in the market for one yourself.
1. Zuo Physics – $333.99 at Home Depot (This is the one I ended up buying – it’s about 3 feet tall and 3 feet wide and included the chrome-dipped bulbs.)
2. Orgasma Chandelier – $280.80 at Amazon (affiliate link)
3. Fine Mod Spark – $199.00 at Amazon (affiliate link)
4. Nuevo Sputnik Pendant – $362.88 at Amazon (affiliate link)
5. Supernova Mini Chandelier – $196.47 at Amazon (affiliate link)
6. Style Selections Chandelier – $189 at Lowe’s
Have you seen a reasonably priced Sputnik chandelier? Let me know!
I have been dreaming about finding a vintage beauty at one of my local auctions now for year and had no luck. Such a bummer.
I love these choices but wish they would finally make one GOLD. Seriously, why don’t they???
I’ve seen some in gold, Julia! I’ll let you know when I run across one again. I wanted a vintage one, too, but they are $$$$ around here. Sigh!
I’ve had my eye on this one for quite some time: http://www.inmod.com/3624armspla.html#.UvEKtPldVWE
I’m completely smitten with it and it’s made in the USA. However, it is quite pricey!

I bought the one from Lowe’s for my son’s room. It is GREAT quality for the price!! Can’t say enough about how cool it looks.
I find vintage ones on Ebay all the time. They start out reasonable then skyrocket.
Here is a new one for $299: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPACE-AGE-MOD-SPUTNIK-starburst-ATOMIC-LAMP-Chandelier-Light-3-FOOT-DIAM-w-BULBS-/121329877629?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276.
There is this flushmount one too for $49.98: http://www.ebay.com/itm/321297352612. ( I would paint it antique brass)
There is a seller on Etsy (https://www.etsy.com/shop/StarlightLighting) that makes them to order in whatever finish you want. There is a flushmount one that would be good for a hallway for $95.
This seller on Etsy(https://www.etsy.com/shop/LucentLightshop?ref=l2-shopheader-name)isn’t too outrageous and has sconces, too.
This Etsy seller(https://www.etsy.com/shop/Stimulight?ref=l2-shopheader-name) has amazing lights and makes them custom as well, but they are a little spendy.
I may or may not have been looking for one for awhile. Mostly may have. I want one for like every room in my house. Thank you for putting this post together. I had no idea I could get one at Lowes.
I found a 36 arm Sputnik chandelier at Goodwill today, and bought it for $4.99!! My husband and I were pretty stoked when he pried all the old busted bulbs out of it, fitted it with new ones, and IT WORKS!! Now I’m just not so sure it flows with the rest of the room we planned to use it in. Anyone know how much this thing might be worth?
Ikea has something similar
