Making the Move

by Lindsay Ballard on March 13, 2010 17 Comments

I’m getting ready to transfer my blog from Blogger to WordPress. All the cool kids are doing it, so I figure I should, too.

All joking aside, I’m excited about the transition because I will gain so much flexibility and functionality with the blog on the new platform. Nothing *should* change for you. You *should* still be able to find me at www.MakelyHome.com. You *should* be able to access my blog feed in the same way you do now.

Of course, that’s all dependent upon if I break the entire Internet in the process. Let’s not hold our breath on that one.

Hopefully, I’ll see you on my new platform by the end of the night. If not, I’ll be the one crying in the corner.

UPDATE: It’s going to be a bit longer than anticipated…maybe tomorrow (Sunday)?

Good luck on the move, Lindsay!! 🙂 Do you anticipate any troubles like losing Followers? How does that work? I hope you are really happy with WordPress. You should do a little review of it when you've had a chance to use it more. 🙂

Were you able to carry over all of your old posts or did you lose them? I switched from TypePad to Blogger and am very happy so far.

I was able to carry over everything – old post, pictures, comments. Luckily, I have my husband the geek to help me out when I get stuck, but it really was pretty easy.
