Putting My Own Twist on an Inspiration

by Lindsay Ballard on March 27, 2013 11 Comments

How many times can I tell you about my obsession for a vignette in someone else’s house?

I think we might be at 3 times with this image since February.  I can’t help it.  I love me some Nester, and I really love me some Nester styling a bust with necklaces and an eye patch.

I knew that I wanted to set up my own version of this darling vignette in my own home.  While at an antique store recently, the clouds parted, angles sang, and inspiration struck.

Instead of a bust, I found this adorable vintage chalkware bulldog (remember, I have that unexplained weird thing for dog statues).  I love that he’s chippy and that he looks so stoic while wearing a few of my brightly colored necklaces.

Don’t feel like your home won’t be unique if you draw from inspiration you find online.  Just give it your own twist!

That pug’s got a lot of wear, but it certainly makes for a very interesting piece of decor.

I WANT the dog. I’m gonna drive down and steal it, okay? Don’t mind me.

Oh, it will be quick – you won’t even notice 🙂
Seriously. I think the dog is too cool, especially with the necklaces. It would give my dogs a complex.
