Calendars are Fundamental

by Lindsay Ballard on August 19, 2009 7 Comments

In an effort to finally prove once and for all that I am a huge dork, I scheduled a post to run an entire week early. It wouldn’t have been a big deal, except I wrote a guest post for someone who IS a big deal, and I don’t want you guys clicking over there thinking she messed up. It was me. Me, me, me, me, me.

She is having a giveaway today, however, so click over there anyway and enter!

For those of you who saw my post in your reader and are wondering what happened to it, you’ll see it next week! For those of you who didn’t see it and wonder what in the world I’m talking about, well, you’ll have to wait until next week, too. I just didn’t want y’all to think I actually had my act together. I am completely winging this. 🙂

I guess I’m off to buy a daily planner this morning. Anyone have any good recommendations?

I saw two great ones at Staples today. They combined both the month-by-month style (where you see the whole month on one page) but then also had pages with more of the day-by-day or week-by-week feel, where you can add more detail. Plus they came in pretty colors – one was a nice sage green and the other a dusty coral color. I'm sort of a calendar geek and am thinking about getting one even though I still have a perfectly good calendar!

Tooooo funny! I on purpose kept the google reader entry so I could go back and check later for your post! I'll have to wait patiently till next week now! If you have Outlook, btw, the calendar feature works well. Or, google I think has a calendar too! Not that I use them either!

I need a planner too, but I end up forgetting them when I change purses, or not transferring info. from the Kitchen fridge calendar…it's a mess! 😉

    Hi Lindsay!
I'm starting a new blog of all my favorite before and afters. I really loved your gold shelf makeover. Do you mind if I feature it on my blog? Thanks!

Okay, so I know you were kinda kidding, and it was entirely cute, but you simply MUST try the Mom Agenda planner. (momagenda.com) It's fabulous and keeps me from screwing up TOO often. 🙂

After several years of "trying on" different planners, I've settled on one that rocks my world.

It's a Weekly/Monthly Planner by Blue Sky. I got mine at Office Depot, but I think they're available everywhere. I have this one: http://store.blueskyimg.com/IW_Products.m4p.pvx?;MULTI_ITEM_SUBMIT

But for 2010, I'm thinking of getting Barcelona w/ a pretty black and white toile pattern, or Surf and Sand w/ turquoise tabs and a pretty beachy scene.

I love the 5×8 size because it's big enough to squeeze info in the monthly squares (and there's a ton of space on the weekly pages) but it's still small enough to carry around in my purse.

I have FlyLady's calendar on my fridge for my home calendar.

Girl! You crack me up! If it makes you feel any better, I scheduled the DIY Day post to go up at 10:00 last night WITHOUT the Mcklinky in it!!!! GAH!!!!

And then I fell asleep on the couch and went to bed without checking it! I NEVER do that! I woke up this morning to quite the surprise.

I can't wait to share your project next week. I love it! And everyone else is going to love it too.
