Oh, did I see some inspiring decor this weekend!
I met up with a few gals at the City-Wide Garage Sale on Saturday. Remember when I told you about the wonderful antique and vintage sale we have about once a month in Austin? Well, this weekend was the meet-up, and we had such a great time.
Because I know that you really wanted to be there (and probably more so because I got a new Flip video camera), I recorded our little trip to share with you. There are some great vintage finds and some fantastic vignette inspiration in the video. I’m certainly no Martin Scorsese, so I hope I don’t make you sick with my “Blair Witch Project”-style camera work. I’ll keep practicing. 🙂
We also ran across a gorgeous pair of wreaths that I am going to try to recreate. If I’m successful, I’ll definitely put together a tutorial for you guys. Aren’t they wonderful?
The next show is November 28th. I plan on being there (hopefully, dragging my sister along), so if you’d like to join me, let me know!
I have a winner for the UPrinting.com Custom Sticker giveaway I had going on at the other blog.

Congrats to commenter #28, K @ Thrifty Teacher Blog! I hope you enjoy your 250 custom stickers!
love those wreaths! 🙂
i've got a perfect spot for one… hmmmmmm…
Thanks!

So wish I could have been there for that!!!
I can't watch the video right now, but I will later. It seems that everyone, including me, found some great things this weekend and are blogging about them! I love vintage goodies!
Those wreaths are incredible. I can't see them being too hard to replicate, but I'm sure it would be time consuming. Can't wait to see them if you figure it out!
Wow…that looks like fun! I love the old furniture with paint peeling off! You live in a cool town!
Kim
Thanks for taking us along to the city wide garage sale…I watched the video and although I didn't count how many times you said "love that" I probably would have been saying the same thing because there was so much cool stuff there and I loved it too 🙂
I loved those wreaths you pictured too so I'm looking forward to the tutorial.
Jane
I love the wreaths. I can see trying to make some of those too.
1. You are too cute!! Love your hair. 🙂
2. Those wreaths are really neat…would love to see your tutorial when it's ready.
3. This is a DUMB question, but how do you get the "photo" of the Random.com results to show up on your blog? I looked for a code when I did some numbers on their homepage, but didn't see one….
It was great meeting you in person- even if it was just for a minute! Those wreaths were so cool.
Yes, please share your ideas on how to make these wreaths, they are wonderful! You post, I'll make the attempt to follow your directions!
Janell
Lindsay, are those wreaths made out of newsprint?
Hey, I just wanted you to know that I saw your post a while back on the pleated pillow and HAD to make a few. I linked it back to your post, thanks for the inspiration! http://mycreativeattempts.blogspot.com/2009/10/pleated-pillow.html
If you figure out how to make the wreaths, I have some really cool old French magazines (aged black and white like what's on the wreaths) and some vintage sheet music that would look really cool too and I'd be happy to share. I tried twisting those little cards they used but just wasn't coordinated enough. I'm relying on you! Had a blast and got some great ideas!
I wish I could be there. Texas is definitely too far away for me but I have to find something like that near me.
What great treasures. I saw a few things I would have loved to pick up.
Ruth
great video! I'd love to have come with you, looks so much fun
oh and that wreath, mmm mmm I might have a go at making that too,
OMG- I can't believe I won!!! Whoo- hoo 🙂
I never, ever, ever, ever win anything 🙂
Yiphee!
That was awesome! I have to write the dates down for that "garage sale". We are headed to Austin Friday thru the weekend. I hope to come across some thrifty, antique, shabby shops!
Great wreaths, and the shopping looks like a lot of fun. Jackie
Loved the video Lindsay! You did a great job. Looking forward to watching more of them.
Yeah, these wreaths were made from pages of old books. Sheet music would be great, too!
I'm in the process of figuring it out. 😉 I don't think it'll be too hard – just time consuming.
Very cool! I want to come next time! 🙂
Those wreaths are just gorgeous! I'll be in Austin in a couple weeks and can't wait. : )
I'm so sad I didn't get to meet up with y'all. And i was scared to take pictures with my phone, so I'm glad you grabbed on of the book wreaths. I knew we were in trouble when we made a purchase at the very first booth. My friend collects old windows/doors and found a shutter window she had to have.
Those wreaths would looke AWESOME made out of manuscript… a big old wreath of music… I'd love it.
That looks like MY kind of sale! Too bad a trip to Austin isn't in my November budget. 🙂
I am so excited to meet you in Nashville In Feb.!
Wow would love to go to the City Wide Garage sale, lots of pretty stuff!
I live in Austin and have never been to the City Wide Garage Sale! Oh what I have been missing! I am so glad I found your blog! You have tons of great ideas. I'll be looking for you at the next sale.
New to your page, and was thrilled when I read about the City Wide Garage Sale in Austin!! My brother lives in Austin and I try to plan my visits around it!! haha- maybe I wont tell him that.. 🙂
A friend of mine has one in her music room – made of sheets from an old hymnal. Love it!
I love that, Dana!
