Hooked on Monograms

I am absolutely obsessed with monograms.

I love monogrammed towels.

These days, decorating with monograms has gone so far beyond the traditional linens. I was searching for a vinyl monogram for a project I am working on, and I came across a few new ideas in my search.

I think this framed monogram is such a sweet idea. It would be such an easy DIY project, too! All you would need is a good printer and a graphic design program. You could even send it to a photo printer (like Snapfish or Walgreens) to have it professionally printed.

I must have some of these monogrammed soaps for my guest bathroom. If I had an unlimited budget, I’d fill a tall apothecary jar with them and put them in my bathroom. Sigh…sometimes I wish money really did grow on trees.

Even wedding cakes are getting in on the monogram action. My sister has selected a monogrammed cake topper for her June wedding instead of the traditional bride and groom. I wish this idea would have been around when DH and I got married five years ago. I love it!

Things Festive

Vinyl wall letters seem to be all the rage in home decorating, but did you realize you could use the letters on other smooth surfaces? For example, this cute monogram is simply used on a bucket filled with office supplies:

I am going to apply a similar vinyl monogram to a piece of furniture I am repurposing. I found this fancy schmancy initial on Etsy, and the sweet seller is going to custom make it my measurements. I’m so excited!

Say It With Style

What other ways can you think of for using a monogram in your home? Needless to say, I’m hooked!

I don’t consider myself to be obsessed with monograms, seeing as I don’t have anything monogrammed other than heirloom china from hubby’s grandparents. BUT – I saw a monogram over a headboard in a pottery barn catalog and want one. As soon as my master bedroom has walls, I am totally putting one on the wall above the bed. 🙂

I love monograms, also! They are fancy schmancy. I am going to monogram some blown out eggs and use them as “place cards” in egg cups for our Easter dinner.

Thanks so much for all the monogram inspiration!

I love them, but then I love words printed all over the house. It shows your personality!

I don’t have anything, as of yet, that is monogramed, but I’m thinking I’ve got to get with it! I loved the ones you’ve featured in your blog.

Great minds think alike! I LOVE monograms, and have either a monogram or single letter in just about every room. I’ve been meaning to check out Etsy, I would love to have a vinyl monogram for our bedroom.

I never thought of monograms having so many applications! A popular wedding idea here is to have an elaborate monogram in icing on the top layer of the cake. 😀 Jewel

Never try monogrammed underwear in a house full of girls…..that just makes it obvious when you’re using someone else’s undies 🙂

Have a great hooked on Friday!

Wow, when I was in High School, circa 1980, Monogram cardigans were the rage. I ended up working at a monogram company then, so I could have everything monogramed. Now I have nothing….and I wished I did! Thanks for sharing.

What is funny for me about this post is that my stepmother and her best friend owned a monogram shop in the ’80s. Almost everything I owned but my underwear was monogrammed. It was insane. People thought my sister and I didn’t know our names because everything had our name or initials on it. The funniest part is, while our underwear was not monogrammed, she did have the honor of monogramming the boxers of T. Boone Pickens.

I’m looking to do some vinyl in my house too. I want some surf themed stuff for Caden’s bathroom. Seen anything?
