Jumpstart June {The Finale}

by Lindsay Ballard on July 2, 2014 13 Comments

Woah.  Did June just fly right by us or what?  And just as quickly, we are finished with Jumpstart June.

Jumpstart June: Pick one project that you want to get finished this month and get it done!

Since today is actually July 2nd, I should have posted my final project yesterday.  But, sometimes summer fun gets in the way of my blog’s editorial calendar, and you guys have to wait a day or two for a post.  The good news, though, is that I got finished with my Jumpstart June project.

Mary Blair Inspired Wall

YES!  I actually didn’t finish it until about 10pm on June 30th.  I went down to the wire, but I got it completed.

I have several walls that I’m painting like this in my home, and I had originally thought that I could finish them all in a month.  Ha!  Looking back, that was a HILARIOUS goal to set myself.  That was seriously never going to happen.  But, I refined my goal midway through the month and I was able to finish that portion of the mural.

You can see in the above image that the mural will extend to the two adjacent walls.  There’s even more walls than that to paint, but I kind of want to hold it close to my vest for a final reveal.  It’s a lot of fun for me to give you a huge reveal!  I have big plans for what is actually going into that space.

When I began Jumpstart June, part of it was to extend a challenge to you to pick one project on your to do list to complete in the month of June.  Did you participate?  Did you get your project finished?  Let us know!

    I totally failed. This month was so insanely busy, including a week when I was away at a work conference. July is looking crazy too, but I have to get something done!

    Um, I love the wall and I’m really sad that I can’t help you draw and paint it! It looks so fun 🙂

    WOW, Lindsay, your wall looks amazing. I failed with finishing my 6 month long project (mainly because I need help from the hubs and he won’t help me!).

    Wanna come over and paint with me?!! I could use some ideas at my house! 🙂 ~Kim in Round Rock

    I did actaully finish painting my cabinet, but I’d totally forgot to blog about it! Thanks for the reminder! Your mural looks fantastic, looking forward to the ‘big reveal’ x
