The Best Brownies You Will Ever Eat

A few weeks ago, I issued a desperate call on Twitter. I was craving brownies like nobody’s business, and I needed a quick and easy recipe immediately. I received quite a few links to recipes (including Bridget’s recipe for Carmel Brownies…nom nom nom), but I didn’t have all of the necessary ingredients. Thankfully, Nicki at Domestic Cents came to my rescue.

Now, before I give you the recipe for the Best Brownies You Will Ever Eat, I need to let you in on a secret. Well, it’s not really a secret if you know me other than from behind the computer screen. You see, I play Martha Stewart in the craft world, but I HATE cooking and baking. Hate. Hate. Hate. I’d much rather clean the toilets than have to do anything in the kitchen. It’s just not something that is even remotely enjoyable to me. If it were up to me, we’d eat sandwiches or cereal every night. I’m lucky that my husband enjoys cooking, so he makes sure we stay fed.

Keeping that in mind, I should also call this recipe the Best and EASIEST Brownies You Will Ever Eat. Or maybe, the Best, Easiest, Most Melt in Your Mouth Deliciousness, There Won’t Be Any Left in the Morning, Moist Brownies You Will Ever Eat. Or maybe, I should just call them Caty’s Brownies like Nikki does.

The recipe takes minutes to prepare, requires nothing special (just everyday items you probably already have in your kitchen) and takes only 30-35 minutes to bake. When they are ready, you will feel like you have died and gone to brownie heaven. I know everyone thinks their brownie recipe is the best, but I really need you to just trust me on this one and try it yourself.

The Best, Easiest, Most Melt in Your Mouth Deliciousness, There Won’t Be Any Left in the Morning, Moist Brownies You Will Ever Eat

2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3/4 c. cocoa
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
dash cinnamon

Mix ingredients and bake in greased pan at 350 for 30-35 minutes.

That’s it, guys. Homemade brownies don’t get any simpler…or more delicious (but I think I mentioned that). I’m getting ready to whip up a batch this morning to take to a friend’s house who invited us to lunch today.

    Yum! I'll bookmark it. We usually buy the Ghiradelli Triple Chocolate mix from Costco–it's fantastic. (I made a pan yesterday.)

    Too bad we don't live a little closer; we could come up with an awesome cooking/toilet scrubbing swap. 😉

    I totally was craving brownies the other day, too, but couldn't wait the 30-35 minutes for them to bake and then even longer to cool, so I found two really yummy cookie recicpes – one even uses a brownie mix! Both recipes were super simple and totally yummy!!

    I hate cooking too! Baking, I can do, although if my plan is too grand I often have mixed results.

    I'm a fan of The Brownie, but I've never found a homemade recipe that I love as much as brownies from the box. I will have to give this one a spin and see how it measures up!

    Just made these, super easy, super yummy! Another note it might be the high altitude, but they took 50 minutes to bake for me.

    Just wanted to say thank you for the five pounds I'm sure I just gained! Those were SOOOOO good! They tasted just like my husband's grandma's super secret brownie recipe. Bawahahahaha! And the power shifts down a coupld of generations. =)

    Can't wait to try these out…I made some the other week that were almost similar to these. Those had less cocoa, one less egg, no vanilla, and no baking powder or cinnamon…they were ok but not melt in your mouth. I thought they were missing something…maybe your recipe holds the missing pieces! 🙂

    I have these baking in the oven right now. I think my 8×8 pan must not really be 8×8 because the batter is about to over flow and I'm afraid the edges are going to burn before the center is done. But the batter was so very good that I could have eaten it straight.

    Uh. Yeah. These are now on my favorite list! I usually really dislike homeade brownies since they are never "chocolatey" enough. These were PERFECT! Thanks for sharing this recipe. I can't wait to make more for my husband's office.

    These are in the oven now…I agree that as written, they take much longer than the 30-35 minutes. Maybe it should read 1 STICK of butter rather than 1 CUP, which equals two sticks. That's the only reason I can see why they're not working. They've been in twice the amount of time and don't look like they're going to firm up anytime soon. I'm sure they'll be yummy if they firm up–they smell delish. I just wonder if there's something amiss in the ingredient amounts.

    I always make mix brownies, bc everyone likes them and they are easy…but these seem just as easy, and I like the "real" ingredients!

    I tried making these tonight.The pan size was way off! I doubled the recipe to make a 9×13 pan. there was so much batter I put it on a half sheet cookie sheet instead! It was still too small. The batter overflowed the sides while baking. Whatever you do don't double the recipe!

    We had us a little snow/ice storm this weekend, down south, which means no one moves,so I bake up these little puppies and they were awesome! I already had crockpot veggie soup cooking and the smells from the kitchen were yummy!

    Ok. So I really was a bit hesitant about the whole "best" label…but I tried them out. Okay – I absolutely CANNOT believe the reaction that they got! I took them to a party last night and they were gobbled up before I knew it. I've never seen anything been eaten so quickly. This is DEFINITELY a repeat recipe! SO awesome! Thanks.

    Did you use a metal or glass pan? I'm currently baking them in a metal pan and they have been in 45+ minutes and are still soup in the middle (I live in the midwest..no high altitude)….the batter is delicious though…I'm giving them some more time..and if not, we'll just eat some really good chocolate soup!! (Is it 1 stick of butter or 2?) Thanks!

      Let me just say that these brownies were not awesome…They were FANTASTIMAGICAL! Easiest, yummiest brownies EVER! I have baked and baked brownies and these…perfection. Perfect crust, perfect brownie crumb and that hint-of-cinnamon-that-no-one-can-put-there-finger-on, thank you for posting this!

    These are the best brownies I've ever made-I'm making another batch right now. The first time I used a glass pan and it did take longer, the second time I used a metal pan and it didn't take as long-yummy!!!!

    So, we made this and fell in love. The cinnamon made it extra yummy other than the ooey gooeyness. Love it. Thanks for sharing.

    Licking the yummy spoon ( I love the hint of cinnamon) and waiting for what is sure to be delicious brownies. If the batter tastes good, that is always a sure clue that what you’re baking will taste fantastic. Again for those reading the comments, SUPER EASY!

    I cooked these brownies and they are absolutely delicious!!! I didn’t have an
    8×8 pan available at the moment so I cooked them in a cake pan and another small pan. They cooked in a little less than 30 mins. and taste great!

    Found this recipe on pinterest and love it! I didn’t have a brownie mix on hand or any chocolate chips, so this recipe was perfect! Thanks! They cooked perfectly in about 35-40 minutes and I was surprised at how moist and rich they were!

    I’ve got these in the oven now, and I made them gluten/dairy free with egg whites! I’ll let you know how they turn out. The batter tasted awesome! I was thinking, maybe you should add a phrase to their name: “The Best, Easiest, Most Melt in Your Mouth Deliciousness, There Won’t Be Any Left in the Morning, As If You Had Batter Left to Bake After Sampling, Moist Brownies.” 🙂
