When I woke up this morning, I checked the Weather Channel app on my phone. It’s always the first thing I do every morning, as it helps me see what the day is going to bring. I am a warm weather person at heart, so this time of year (literally) sends a chill down my spine.
Today, the app announced that it was 28° with a windchill of 19°. WHAT?!? Okay, some of you are laughing at me right now and others of you are equally as horrified. Not only did I have to send my kids out the door to school wearing heavy coats and scarves this morning, but I had to throw on my fleece pants and pour myself an extra large cup of coffee. I’m glad I don’t have a ton of errands to go and run today – I live in Central Texas for a reason!
The only thing that I like about the cold weather is that it is a signal that the holidays are on their way. It’s hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner and Christmas is not far behind it. Of course, the stores (and some of my neighbors) have already decorated big time for the holidays, so it’s hard to forget that we are getting ready to enter the holiday season.
I’ve always been a stickler for not decorating for Christmas until Thanksgiving is over. I love Thanksgiving (family+food+football=greatest day ever), so I don’t want to push it out of the way so that I can enjoy Christmas decor for a few weeks longer. Instead, I get busy trimming the tree the weekend after Thanksgiving But just because I don’t decorate early doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy some things about the Christmas season! One of the best way to do that is to add in some scents of the season. Doesn’t the smell of cinnamon and gingerbread bring back such wonderful memories of holidays past?
This year, the Thymes company sent me their delicious collection of Gingerbread scented home fragrance products. The products include two sizes of candles, a reed diffuser, an ornament sachet, hand lotion, hand wash and a home fragrance mist. I love that the gingerbread scent is subtle enough not to be overwhelming but sophisticated enough that it doesn’t scream, “ZOMG, CHRISTMAS!” It smells so good – I wish the Internet was scratch and sniff.
The reed diffuser and ornament sachet are my favorite products since they deliver the gingerbread scent all day long. But, obviously, candles are always fabulous and the hand lotion, hand wash, and home fragrance mist are great ways to have a delicious scent in your home. And how cute is the little bakers twine and house charms? The Gingerbread Collection is new to Thymes this year, and I hope it’s one that they bring back every year.
This is the time of year that I start thinking (and stressing) about gifts for my kids’ teachers. Instead of panicking the week before school gets out for the winter break, I’m going to go ahead and order them a few Thymes products right now. I mean, they are already going to get 10 Starbucks and Target gift cards, right? I want to do something special this year since they’ve done so much for my kids. Everything in the Gingerbread Collection will make an excellent gift, so I think I’ll put them together little gift baskets with a few items. This is actually the perfect time to order, because right now you can get a free Thymes sample fragrance kit (over 15 different samples) with a $25 order. The sample fragrance kit promo should be automatically applied when you click here, but the code is LQFSPK14 just in case that doesn’t work.
I would also like to give a gift to one of you to help get your holiday season started off right. You can either keep it for yourself or give it to someone on your gift giving list! I’ve put together a gift bag of some of my favorite items from the Thymes Gingerbread Collection (a $75 value), and one of you is going to win it! To enter, visit the Thymes website by clicking here and check out their collection of holiday products. Then, come back here and tell me the products that you are most excited to win. I can’t wait to share this wonderful gift with one of you!
This gift contest is open through November 25, 2014 and one winner will be randomly selected. The contest is open for U.S. residents, 18 years old and above.
Thank you to Thymes for sponsoring today’s post and for bringing some holiday cheer to me on this cold winter fall day.
I love Fasier Fir candles, reminds me of home (where it’s actually winter with snow and everything!)
Oh, just give me all of it. But especially the gingerbread candle 🙂 It’s too cute!
The candle! Thymes makes the most amazing candle scents, especially the Frasier Fir.
There are too many great options to pick just one, I mean who doesn’t love a good candle especially in a seasonal scent? I also love to use room sprays when vacuuming and seasonal soaps around the house!
Oh, I LOVE candles this time of year, and the gingerbread sounds amazing. I don’t know what the Azur smells like, but the description sounds lovely as well.
I would like both the gingerbread or fraiser fur reed diffusers. They would be the perfect touch to brining in the holidays in my bathroom and entryway!
You had me at gingerbread! I don’t wait for the cold weather to enjoy ginger – I do all year round. It’s my absolute favorite spice!
I love the candle, but the sachet? I’m swooning for that sachet!
I really like the gingerbread candle and hand lotion!
The hand wash and lotion sound great. I’m all about smells I’m afraid I’d be smelling my hands all day 😉
Thanks
I’d love to try the gingerbread or Tupelo Lemongrass collections!
Every year I get a Frasier Fir Pine needle candle but maybe this year I will switch it up and try a gingerbread reed diffuser. I love that it can give off a continuous non-overpowering Christmas scent!!!
I love the gingerbread candle, the packaging is so cute!
The artificial Christmas tree is not officially decorated until a Frasier Fir candle is lit. We are insane, so our tree is already all decked out, but the drug store candle doesn’t really cut it. (That’s what you get when you send your husband to Target on his own…)
The candle and the diffuser both would look awesome in my home!
I would love to try the Christmas Candle that you say smells so good!
I would love to win a candle because I rarely spend money on them for myself. I liked the “fresh” description for Aqua Coralline. Thanks!
Would love the gingerbread handwash and lotion. Great way to experience gingerbread without the calories!
I love the packaging on the gingerbread handwash…would be nice to have those around to spruce up the bathrooms for guests. I bet they smell yummy. I would love to try the Brandied Pumpkin & Chestnut candle, sounds delicious.
I am loving the candles and the bubble baths.
ooooOo I can smell the gingerbread candle from here! 😉
I love the Frasier Fir line of products, but I also love the Hobnail Coriander. As far as scent, I’m just not sure. Since I get migraines, I would need a scent that isn’t too flowery. Something more earthy.
Thank you for your kindness in giving this to someone!
I am definitely tempted by the all the Gingerbread…although the Fiddlehead Fern and Crabapple scent sounds great, too!
I love the gingerbread home fragrance and candles! I hope they are in my house this holiday season!!!
Danna
I absolutely love seasonal candle scents… especially at christmas. There’s something about cozy scents combined with the warmth and the light of candles that make winter tolerable!
-Sarai
The gingerbread candle and ornament!
The gingerbread candle and hand lotion!
The gingerbread candle scent sounds awesome!
Honestly, my three favorite cookies are oatmeal with sour cherry and toffee bits (thank you Martha Stewart’s housekeeper!), snickerdoodles and molasses spice. So, you can surmise that cinnamon and ginger are NOT seasonal aromas to me. However the Frasier Fir sounds like winter wonderland to me. I’ve lived my whole life in subtropical California, so I’ve got an almost 100% romanticized image of snow and evergreens (1 New Year’s with friends in a Yosemite cabin.) That cedarwood sounds great too, as it reminds me of my mother’s keepsake chest. Taboo….
Maybe it’s my Japanese heritage, but I think reed diffusers look so gracious and harmonious. That dark glass? .Elegant.
PS. Thanks, Lindsey, for sharing not just this giveaway, but your talent and the process to realize all these great inspirations.
Candles and that too in seasonal scents – gingerbread sounds great.
I love all sort of candles.
Christmas candle would be a good addition to my stock.
Thanks for the opportunity to win, love Christmas candles.
Candles, glorious candles! The gingerbread sounds wonderful, but the fir would complete the tree. They all sound wonderful and would love to be surprised.
I love this time of the year! Both of these scents remind me of Christmas! I would love to have the Frasier Fir candle or diffuser. (However, the gingerbread candle sounds absolutely delicious!!!) Every year I need a season scent in my home to set the holiday mood! I would love to win! Thank you for this opportunity!
The gingerbread candle sounds amazing. I’ve never tried this brand, but LOVE candles in my home!!
I Love when my Home Smells Warm and Yummy! Thanks for opportunity to Win ~ Candles Glorious Candles!
I’ve always wanted to try a reed diffuser and gingerbread sounds like a good place to start. 🙂 Lovely giveaway!
Aw how sweet of you! I’d love to try the candle because I love all holiday-themed scents!
I would love the Frazier Fir candles.
Candles are always a favorite. If the Gingerbread is anything like the Frasier Fir, it must be awesome!
Oooo la la! I love the Gingerbread Reed Diffuser and the Mirrabelle Plum Lip Duo!
Their room sprays are amazing, I need some ASAP. Never tried their candles, but would love to!
I love the packaging and presence of the Gingerbread Candle and the Gingerbread Reed diffuser! I’ve used other products (mostly lotions) and love them…but would love to try something for my home!
gingerbread sounds heavenly!
First, thanks so much for the great give away!! And I love their wood wick candles!! My mom is in love with their double wick candles! 🙂
I LOVE bubble baths, and they’re getting harder to find, so that is exciting all they have in stock. And I love wood wick candles!
The frasier fir pine cone lantern is amazing and I’m sure it smells like Christmas!!!
I love all things gingerbread and I am dying to try out the Gingerbread candles! I burn candles year-round, but I particularly enjoy them during the winter holidays… so nice to have a little extra glow in the evenings when it gets dark so early!
Thanks for the chance!
The Fir two wick canlde is classy!
So in the Holiday collection I would to try the Fraiser Fir candle!!
Hi, these candle scents look wonderful. I was wondering if they were made with essential oils? I’ve been searching for wonderful Christmas scented candles that are scented only with essential oils because I am allergic to synthetic fragrance. Any recommendations would be appreciated:).
Oh man, it’s so hard to choose! I’d go with the Frasier Fir reed diffuser, I think. 🙂
Definitely the candles! They’re so pretty and i bet they smell amazing!
the gingerbread candle
Fraiser fir sounds like an amazing sent. I’d love to try the canlde
Omg the candles look amazing and I need a holiday one!
